Mark McDonald has been involved in the public and private sectors of the building construction industry in residential, commercial, institutional, tenant improvement and military construction projects since 1976.
Mr. McDonald's work and responsibilities during this thirty plus year involvement with the construction industry include:
From 1976 to 1984, Mr. McDonald was employed by the University of California, San Diego as a Planner - Inspector - Estimator in the Facilities Management Department. He was responsible for the supervision and control of in-house maintenance, repair, alteration and new construction projects. He also had oversight and control of outside contractors performing renovations, repairs and new construction on all campus facilities.
During the period 1984 to 1992, Mr. McDonald was a partner in California Carpets, a San Diego based flooring contractor doing business throughout the Western United States, and was involved in all aspects of the business.
From 1992 until March 1998, Mr. McDonald worked with Caltera Enterprises, Inc., Construction Consulting Division. In this position he performed site inspections and investigations, prepared cost to repair estimates and document organization for use in mediation, arbitration, deposition and trial.
In March 1998, Macklin, McDonald and Associates was formed as a Construction Consulting Company. In this company Mr. McDonald was involved in all phases of the consulting business, including site inspections and investigations and preparation of cost to repair estimates. The operation of this company was closed due to the death of Mr. Macklin.
In March 1995, Mr. McDonald formed California Scene Interiors, a sole proprietorship specialty floor covering contracting and consulting company, a continuing business entity.
In January of 2001 Mr. McDonald added the McDonald Associates, Construction Consulting and Cost Analysis Division of C.S.I. This Division provides Consulting services including Site inspections, Investigation and preparation of cost of repair estimates and exhibits for mediation, arbitration, deposition and trial.
In March 2006, Mr. McDonald purchased La Mesa Carpet and Linoleum, a Retail & Commercial floor covering ongoing Business located in La Mesa, CA.
Mr. McDonald served in the U. S. Navy from 1966 to 1970 as an Aviation Storekeeper with
two deployments to Viet Nam and was honorably discharged after service to his Country.
